Still sad about your hens, but at least it's good to know you have neighbours who accept responsibility,  hope everything stays friendly between you.
I found a badger eating one of my hens alive, holding her down while eating her, shouted at it and it ran off, luckily she died in my arms within a couple of minutes.
But can't get that sight out of my mind, never want to see that again.

No not really , Today was the day of reckoning for a few of the girls, eight and nine year olds, dare I say faithful old friends and suppliers of eggs (and entertainment ) in their younger years. But they were getting on and mostly non productive. So one at a time taken from the run and  dispatched, apologised to each and every one of them, ten in total.
I was in bits by the end, so no it doesn't.
