can anyone recommend a good woodchipper for reasonable price. wev had 2 from B&Q (i know) and both lasted less than 2 weeks. tried to hire one and they said they stopped hiring them out as they break too often. i could hire one for £500 per day but really need one a few hours per week.

are you talking free standing brush shredder or proper large chipper?

they are different beasts,

if you have been buying from b and q i guess its more of a shredder you want for stuff upto a couple of inches diameter max. look out for a camon c80 they are about £700 but you might get lucky and get a bargain, if you get it serviced once a year and learn how to keep its blades sharp it should do you for a very long time...

i dont have a tractor and dont want electric. need to min 15cm wide, mostly for leylandi and fir branches cos theyre so prickly and need to cut back. and branches that are to small to bother with burning. went to b&q cos desperate and thought it wud tide me over, one lasted 6 days and the other 15. didnt have internet at time and cudnt find supplier anywhere. wud use cuttings for garden paths etc
whats difference between brush cutter and chipper.
