A few Dark Egg Strain laying pullets for sale
« on: November 26, 2010, 08:21:43 pm »
I have a few spare pullets from my dark egg laying strain of traditional English Cuckoo Marans.  They are just coming into lay now and have taken a photo this evening.  They are nice healthy birds and should give you a good few years of lovely eggs.  Check out my website for more photos and details.

All the best

Just a little question. I thought the Maran breed was French from the Maran area. Is the the British Maran different? Needless to say I don't know much about the various breeds. Maybe I should have a look on Google. ;)

Hello Bee.
There are a number of types. The Cuckoo (barred) that is usually discribed as British is clean legged.
The French Marans are feather legged and come in a number of colours, including Black and Blue Copper Marans.

English clean legged.

Hi, can I ask you a question about Marans?? I got some as young chicks as someone was selling off her stock, never had them before and dont know much about them, they are now POL and I have a cockerel that looks like yours but the others are all dark with not many markings, do you think they are 2 different types of Maran or are the hens much darker??
