This plant has appeared from nowhere on the edge of a paddock / garden boundary.  Any ideas?  We don't have animals in the padddock at the moment but may put sheep in there so would like to know what it is.

Try one of the plant identifier apps for your mobile.  Picture this says it is Caper Spurge which is poisonous.  But best to check other apps

I think it's an orchid.  Can you take a pic straight into the flower face please.  Try this link; it is perhaps some type of helleborine.

Wow - what a lovely plant, poisonous or not!

I can't really help although my first thought was something related to spurge due to the leaves, but, then, one of the helleborines (types of orchid) seems to me to be possible.

[Edit] But, do any helleborines have opposing leaves ?  If not, then more likely a spurge related plant.  If so, sap likely to be a skin irritant:  I wouldn't know whether any animals can tolerate any type of spurge if eaten, but probably not I would guess.

[If you allow it to go to seed [member=28376]wayfarer[/member] I would be very interested in acquiring some seed.]
