Live in a cohousing community with small farm for our own use.  Dairy cows (rearing their own calves for beef), pigs, sheep for meat and fleece, ducks and hens for eggs, veg and fruit growing

They will get an email notification to say they have been mentioned in a comment. Surely you don't actually have to log in to see the forums unless they are for members only (which maybe coffee lounge is?) so someone can read a thread without anyone knowing.

Ah, thanks harmony.  I was getting confused with another forum where you do have to be logged in to read anything and you don't get an email for mentions unless you have selected that setting.  Sorry for confusion, everyone
