Waste petrol

I want to empty my power tools of fuel before the winter but dont know how yo dispose of it.
Any ideas? What does everyone else do?

I would put it into a petrol can and use it in the car or save till next year?

I let mine run until dry, so no residue left in carbs to gum up, if lots then as  bj_cardiff suggests apart form keeping it, small amounts not worth treating for keeping
