Thanks for the nemaslug info cloddopper.  That's useful - our soil is starting to warm up now.  The grass is growing but until a few days ago we had very cold nights  I'll try it later in the season when the slugs get going outside (no problem in the tunnel).


I like your seed sowing advice too.  Another  :garden:  tip  :trophy: award  ;D

I started growing parsnips about 5 years ago when I started a veg box scheme. Given their reputation for poor germination I have used primed and pelleted seed and sow quite late - late April usually. Sowing 3 seeds per station I have always got full rows of parsnips.
It may be worth trying primed pelleted seed which has had germination initiated for faster germination in the soil.

If you can spare the beer then beer traps work well for me on a small scale. i make the traps out of old bottles and when full i pour into the compost pile. I have tried wool pellets in the past with zero luck.
