Hi

Caravan for rent Skye.

Caravan on Croft NW Skye. We run an Organic (in conversion) veg box scheme on Skye in addition to keeping Shetland sheep, Highland Cattle and Toggenburg goats.

We recently completed our house build and are looking into what to do with our 32x12ft static caravan, it has 1 large open plan living area/kitchen, double bed and very small bathroom. services, compost loo and 6kw stove.

If we were to rent it we would be looking for folk who were interested in the type of life we lead here and able and keen to look after the animals etc at times we are away. There would not be space to keep your own stock (beyond maybe a few birds) but we could make space for you to create (from scratch) your own beds (for personal use only) in the garden and possibly give over a few m2 in one of the tunnels.

At this stage we do need to stress we are just putting out feelers to see if there is anybody out there who might make a good fit.
If we do rent it, it must be on a long term basis.

There are reasonable employment opportunities in the area (especially in summer).

Interested?

Did your planning permission/building warrant not state that the temporary housing will have to be (re)moved once your own house is built? Otherwise you have two properties on the one holding/address? I would definitely check with the Planning department before advertising etc.

We could in theory aribnb it as everybody on skye is doing with anything that has a bed these days, however it is fairly close to our house, and we like the idea of folk living there who are into the type of life and can give us a break from time to time. We started out in a different caravan somewhere else and have worked our way up to having a house and business - feel its nice to offer the opportunity to otheres rather than just cash in. Although cashing in would be easy - folk are charging £50 a night for touring carvans without showers and camper vans parked in driveways on Skye..

No Its not an issue with planning.
