Lamb with two mothers!
« on: April 14, 2019, 12:54:51 pm »
This something i haven't come across before.Last week a ewe had a single lamb, the following day a ewe had a lamb that was born dead. When we let her out into the field she decided that the lamb born the previous day was hers and proceeded to lickit and allow it to feed.Amazingly the mother didn't seem to mind. The three of them now keep themselves to themselves, the lamb feeding from both ewes.Amazing and heartwarming.

Aw, that’s sweet!  Are the two ewes related?
Don't listen to the money men - they know the price of everything and the value of nothing

Live in a cohousing community with small farm for our own use.  Dairy cows (rearing their own calves for beef), pigs, sheep for meat and fleece, ducks and hens for eggs, veg and fruit growing
