Looking for an in milk nanny goat
« on: December 12, 2018, 12:39:05 pm »
Hiya everyone!
Does anybody have or know someone who has an in milk nanny goat for sale in the midlands. We are in Warwickshire. Breed or age doesn't matter, just as long as she milks. A goat that is used to being milked, either by hand or machine or both, would be preferable but isn't essential. I'd be happy with a goat due to kid within the next couple of weeks. Kids at foot is not a problem either as I will happily buy them with her.  :goat: :fc:  Thanks for reading!

Have a look at "Goats of Interest UK" on Facebook, there are usually some advertised there.  Be careful to ask about health status as there are several commercial dispersals ongoing (often via secondary individuals) where there are known health issues but buyers are not being made aware of the problems.  These may not be immediately apparent but will show up in the next few years, by which point the entire population of goats and sheep on the holding may have contracted the same.

There's another group for high health livestock for sale although I've not noticed many goats on there recently.  At least if you buy high health you know you're not buying in heartbreak and cost for later.

Good luck getting your perfect girl!

We have a boer doe - due to kid in the next 2 weeks - she is 100% but is very milky and can be hand milked.  She wouldn't be available til after kidding as is too close to kidding to transport.

CAE / Johnes tested negative herd. Upto date with Lambivac.

Hi, how much were you thinking of asking for her? And whereabouts are you? :)

Still looking for a nanny goat. She doesn't need to be in milk now, just so long as she has kidded and is ready to milk for February.
