Hi anyone in this side of the country who vaccinated for BT last September when vaccine was released. When are you going to vaccinate the lambs this year and are you going to do the ewes again in September.

just thought I'd pick your brains before asking my trusty vet. ;D

We didn't bother, very few took it up here in Wales, by the time the idiotic powers that be realeased the vaccine it was to late at the back end of the year there where no midges about, with the cold weather we had they would have needed a fleece and anti-freeze to have survived here!! And then the price, only small dose available at double what we where quoted and no guarantee's to any side affects! and farmers in Europe had it supplied free, so much for a European Union!! Sorry rant over.......

Our vet was pretty good any people that had odd numbers of sheep rather than sell them another bottle of the vaccine, he split it into small doses that had to be collected and used that afternoon.

But quite agree we do seem to get the rough end of the stick as far as European Union concerned.
