Best hoof shears for sheep? Seems to be loads...vary in all sorts of prices. Don't wanna waste money but also don't want to splash out loads if I don't have to!

I buy the cheap nettex ones and they seem to last a couple of years. I did have more expensive ones but found they only lasted a couple of years too. I sent them off to be sharpened and they cost the same to sharopen as a new pair and lasted half as long..

I use a knife, not shears. One of the curved ones you can get at the agrimerchants.

As a left hander, I found regular hoof shears to be a real pain, and similarly now just use a regular penknife that I found works very well to my needs.
-
I also use the 'cheapo' Nettex shears and find they work well for me. I find the traditional type shears awkward to use. I have quite a few sheep by my cheapo's have lasted quite a few years. But I do clean them with disinfectant spray after every sheep they are used on.

Nettex. Seem to do the job for a year or two. Then I get new ones. Too mean to throw away the old ones 'incase' then confuse them with the new ones and wonder why life is so hard.

Not mean, frugal!

Do away with them. If they not lame, leave feet alone. If they are lame inspect & treat, most likely bathe & AB. If overgrown/shelly then cull .

The best hoof shears are no shears. Stop trimming feet!
