2 chicks hatched yesterday - how cute little puffy balls they are! I'm glad I left her on the eggs, must have had the weeks wrong when she started off ::) Will put photos up once I get a chance...
I am absolutly puzzled with the colour range we are getting from the same parents. All mothers are either Lohmann Browns or some kind of Isa and dad is a dark brown Lohmann or similar. How come our first chick was and stayed white with a very few grey speck on her head and the new arrivals are one yellow (which I gather is going to be brown) and one black with a white bib??? :chook: :chook: :&>

here it comes ;D

dont show my wife!!!
she already wants to know if we can have our next chickens from chicks!!!
apparently it would be good for the kids to see them grow up!!!!

it's great for that, bloomer ;D
once you get hooked there is no escape ;D ;D
although I resisted having more ducklings this year, no space ;) :chook: :&>

Well done Kerstin, you that didn't really fancy keeping chooks??? :)

all your fault, James, by gifting us your old hen house ;D ;D
:chook: :&>

Oh thats just the cutest thing ever! ...
bloomer you should definately consider having chicks... they dont take that long to grow and you will find yourself watching them grow with avid interest.
We plan on rearing from chicks for our table birds and I can't wait :)
