Title: Garmin Nuvi 1310 problem ?
Post by: Penninehillbilly on July 17, 2018, 07:09:04 pm
Hi I thought there was a techy section but can't find it.
So, does anyone have, or had one of these SatNavs?
Ours has had a funny turn, screen is white with a black dot which say 'press here', then it bleeps and dot jumps to another place, keeps saying press here, (or something similar, battery now flat), dot is on 'cross lines'.
Tried contacting Garmin thru web page but nor response.
Any thoughts or advice please?

If you Google it there is a Troubleshooting site there.

Do you only charge it in the vehicle?  My son (phone techie) says that they need charging from electricity point from time to  time as the car charger isn't sufficient long term.  My Tomtom threw a wobbly, I tried reset numerous times to no avail till I mentioned that I might have to buy a new one and that's when he told me.  I charged it overnight in the house and it's been fine ever since

Thanks,
We tried the troubleshooting site, nothing relevant, I think that's where we found the contact info.

I'll tell him about charging it, but it's been OK for years

So was my Tomtom one XL - till it wasn't.  Now it's OK again, just out of date becasue they can't give me any more map updates

Managed to find something online, something to do with calibration,, you have to keep pressing the dot.
Strange things.

Oh yes, just remembered I had to reset mine too - a hook ear ring into a little hole in the bottom did the trick  :excited:

Sparkes don't you dare respond to that!  :innocent: :coat:
