Was he poaching trophies or trying to feed a hungry family? Glorious justice seems a little harsh Fleecewife

No, I don't think I'm being harsh, but when you find out the details for us then I shall be happy to change my mind.

Feeding his family lion meat?  I can't see it, when there are plenty of easy to catch zebra and impala which don't bite back?  Poached lions are taken to sell to China for Chinese 'medicine'.  Preserving our world's wildlife is more important to me than someone trying to make a fortune by wiping them out.

Deaths in agricultural accidents would be similarly applauded by Vegans.

My goodness - can you not at least see the irony?

I'm not a vegan, but I think you'll find that vegans are happy to eat the green products of agriculture - it's animal husbandry most vegans abhor.

OK, I've sided with the animals - shock! horror!  Call it the good old British way of cheering the underdog, in this case lions, pitted against rifles and traps and senseless extermination.  So you think that's alright?

Although I wouldn't wish ill on anybody, I certainly appreciate the delicious irony..... as I'm sure the lions also did!

Now I think that's sick. :o
Vegans have a big problem. They seem be so sure of themselves and their brainwashing that  EVERYONE else must be devils.
I don't tell vegans what to eat, and certainly after looking at some of their websites they haven't got all of their facts right.

There are extremists in all walks of life, but I really don't believe that the general run of folk who choose not to eat animal products would rejoice in the death of anyone.
The poacher is different because he is breaking the law for his own profit, and destroying something wonderful which should benefit the whole world - our wildlife.

It is not the good old British way, it is simply being horrible to your fellow man hiding behind a veneer of animal loving which is a nasty modern phenomenon spreading quickly now it is illegal to do so in the name of religion or race or sex. I am sure you cannot imagine a life where going into the bush putting your life in danger was the best option for yourself and your family. I am equally sure you assume that your existence does not impact negatively on any other living creature which it does. Revelling in some poor persons death does nothing to help the lion.

'ME' says: <<< I am equally sure you assume that your existence does not impact negatively on any other living creature which it does >>>

Not only do I not assume that, but I am only too well aware of the huge damage I and every other human being does to our planet.  Please do not tell me what I think.

I don't think [member=4333]Fleecewife[/member] was meaning to revel, rather she was just enjoying the irony.

The guy made a bad choice (on several levels), so more fool him.
