BTV 8 has been knocking on the door of the UK for some time now. BTV 4 present in other parts of the EU has now moved into France Just for your info...

When we leave the EU can we leave the horrible diseases too please :eyelashes:

There's always something .... January lambing farm down the road from us had some lambs with Schmallenberg this Spring ....
-
I'm not surprised, schmallenberg will continue to circulate, those who are on the periphery will have sporadic infections unless animals are vaccinated either naturally or using a vaccine.
BTV has a much higher mortality rate ( affecting not only lambs in utero) but adults as much as lambs.
Anyone know the incidence of resistance following infection with BTV, for those that survive of course?
