Title: Billy advice
Post by: angie on September 07, 2017, 10:20:52 pm
Hi, got the chance of having a visiting Billy to cover our three goats this season.  Not sure whether to let him stay with the girls or keep apart. If he's apart from the girls it would mean he is on his own and if raining would not be able to see the girls for company.
Appreciate any advice on subject
Angie

If he's friendly and we'll mannered and you want all your girls covered you might as well run then together. This us what I decided with my girls. I'm with mine enough that I am able to see who got mated when etc. Plus its just so much easier!

Just be careful at feeding time he doesn't think you're a threat to his girls,
I got 'pushed' by a 5 year old angora buck when retrieving a food bowl.  Backed me up against a hanging trough with his huge horns against my knees.  Was no problem after that one time and luckily no serious damage to me but could have been dangerous.
