Title: Planning help needed please
Post by: Tracy mayoh on July 30, 2017, 12:23:50 pm
We own a plot of green belt agricultural land approx an acre
We have applied to put a stable in there to house our four ryeland sheep / store food and segregate sheep if needed
There saying that the stable could ruin the openness of the green belt and possibly be refused ???
They do t like the fencing
What can I do worried my boys won't cope out side in the winter months

Sheep are better off outside ... they get hot and develop pneumonia in sheds.  Do they have hedge/tree barriers to wind/driving rain? if so no shed needed.

Be polite and explain surely a stable and store is more fitting
Otherwise you may consider a field shelter and a old caravan for food store both of which do not need planning
if its ancillary to agricultural use

Fencing does not require planning permission if its within normal specs

Do shelters not need anything planning wise ? There issue with the stable and food store is there saying it effects the openness of the green belt ???
From my window alone I can see five stables it just doesn't seem fair

You can have a field shelter needs to be a mobile one does not need pp
Next door tows his 24ftx12ft with land rover , just places round posts under it
As long as you move it and keep photos they are stuffed if they take action

You could apply for planning but it costs and sounds like they will turn it down
Then you could appeal but i would go field shelter route myself

Just get one small enough that a few people could move
Or one that is easy to take down and move say every 6 months or so and take photos
as a precaution

Most councils do not check if they are moved but some do
Saw a appeal lost because one had only been moved once in two years

A friend of mine uses three sided shelters made of pallets, totally moveable and low in height; with a moveable fourth side for lambing in case lambs need to be contained

She had roofs on them, but I can't remember what they were made of.
