Title: Peafowl eggs
Post by: Jaymac76 on June 17, 2017, 08:16:49 am
Hi, this is my second year trying to hatch peafowl eggs in my incubator with no success, from now on I will just hatch chicken eggs as I don't seem to have a problem with them. I bought the peafowl eggs from the internet so I am not to sure if the no hatch problem is carriage or just poor quality eggs. I was so looking forward to peafowl running around.

With something as expensive as peafowl eggs, I find a broody hen is best if you haven't got a peahen. In fact I've just got 4 under a hen now and if they hatch will be for sale shortly.
I've never had a good hatch from eggs on ebay anyway.

We hatch peafowl under broody Narragansett turkeys - calms the peachicks and they don't "drift" them when they get older, as many chickens do, which suits the peafowl temperament.
