Title: Lick Bucket With Lambs
Post by: Derbyshire Hillbilly on June 08, 2017, 09:59:20 pm
Hello everyone,
I have a high energy lick in with my ewes at the moment just to keep them in condition while the lambs are still suckling. The last few days I've noticed a few of the lambs with their heads in the bucket - is this OK? I think they're being nosey more than anything but would it hurt them if they started licking it?
Thanks!

Hi i'm pretty new to raising lambs, I have some which are about 12-13 weeks old which were orphaned ones and not doing that great, they are eating creep and grass but don't seem to be put anything on at all, I have a lick (Mole-LYX super enegy 16 elite) that my wife bought but wasn't if they could have it, thanks in advance

Speak to your vet a Faecal Egg Count is very easy to do you just collect  a spoonful of very fresh  ( still warm ) faeces  from 2or 3 lambs  hopefully the poorest ones, put in plastic bag and take to your vet .     Maybe after any treatment for worms or   cocci then you may need blood tests to see if you have a mineral deficiency .     A picture of your grass and lambs would be useful .
