Anyone out there with any experience installing a waterbar (log or rock) or water deflector?
I have a steep trackway that gets a lot of water running down it and I need to find a neat way to deflect the water into a side ditch. Unable to change camber as the track is used for vehicles and the soil just moves/erodes. Sand / sandstone rocks on clay, on sandstone.

We use old crash barrier buried in the track level with the surface and at an angle , so the water goes into a ditch

Hmm, interesting idea [member=9755]shep53[/member] - do you have a photo? What sort of vehicle weights would that support do you think?
-
Sorry almost a luddite , we run artics up and down the roads . If you look at BOX CRASH BARRIERS on ebay this is what we use

Fab, thanks!! :)

stones
you mean an open culvert lined either side with large stones I assume? :) got a photo?
All the stones I've tried move under vehicle traffic.
-
Narrow open culvert, lined with wood, at a slight angle down the hill, should divert water into ditch. Depending on steepness/amount of water you may need a few

is a narrow open culvert lined with metal , at slight angle down hill not what the box crash barriers are ? we used the wooden types and they worked for a long time until the lorries got bigger then they all got crushed , nothing has so far crushed the box crash barriers
-
I'm in Wales... I don't think anything made of wood will last very long at all. Even if treated. :)
I have found a local guy who has some box barriers for sale so will try that, thanks [member=9755]shep53[/member] :)

stones or scafold bars or any random piece of stuffthat not going to puncture a tyre. - they are hardy when put in with the right substraight.
