One of my nubians has very scabby heels and the hair has rubbed off. I hate the ivermectic injections which I have had a couple of years ago as they must sting loads.
Is noromectin ((for cattle) okay to use on goats as a pour on solution or would you suggest Spot On or similar?

Heel mange - Eprinex for cattle pour-on, same per kg dose rate as cattle, no milk withdrawal. vet should have it. Use a syringe minus needle to dribble in between shoulder blades.

I had the same thing in one of my Boar goats and used sudocreme. He was scurfy and scabby around his heels and lost his hair and also the front of his lower leg. By the second day there was a dramatic improvement and the skin felt much better when I rubbed the cream in.
I don't think it was mange though as its cropped up a few times and none of my other goats have been affected.

Vaseline/petroleum jelly does the trick as well, cuts air supply stops them breathing
And i also give them a invermectin based oral wormer Moles have own brand molemec

I have one pygmy wether that always had balding/scaly bits on his legs, once I started using Eprinex pour on it was much better. I think he is particularly sensitive to lice as when his brother gets lice he just gets itchy but this goat gets itchy and then sheds some of his coat and gets these dandruffy patches. Know I know to treat them asap once I see them scratching! Hope this helps.

Very useful thanks. Spotted exactly the same on one of mine yesterday. I thought first off perhaps a version of mud fever. As it happened had checked them all for visible lice yesterday and seen nothing, but it makes sense. So Eprinex it will be.
