Title: Movement Standstill (Pigs and Sheep)
Post by: bluewatersailor06 on February 18, 2017, 12:38:33 pm
Please please can someone help explain the movement standstill rules to me:-

1. I have 2 CPH's does the standstill apply to both as if they were 1?
e.g. Can I move pigs onto one (2.5 miles away) and away from the other without waiting 20days?
Or do I need to move the  pigs off site first, then bring in the new pigs and then wait 20days before other activities?

2. Does the movement standstill affect other animals on the smallholding?
e.g. if I bring pigs on to the CPH does that triggers a)20days, b)6 days or c) no days standstill on sheep?

3. During a standstill can I still take stock to the abattoir?

Thanks in advance for your help.

1. Two CPH's would be seen as exactly that. So, what happens on each is separate.  So, you could move pigs onto one site and move pigs off the other.

2. Movements on trigger a standstill on all stock on that CPH. So, pigs on mean 20 days for pigs and 6 days for all other stock. Sheep on is 6 days for everything.

3. Yes, you can always go to abattoir or slaughter market.
