Has anyone used soaker hozes in a poly tunnel?
Want to see what the pro's and cons could be.
Our tunnel is on a downward slope, the gradient is around 1in 12
The hoze we have is like a rubber porous pipe type.
Not to sure if the downward slope end would end up being to wet watering this way.

Going by what a few friends have said ,
Watch out fo the pores of the soaker getting blocked up with slime that will grow inside the pipe as it warms up in the green house . If you are using spring or rain water use a decent filter as well .
Once the pressure in the pipe is up it will be felt at a reasonable pressure throughout the pipe to a distance of 30 or so metres .
You might like to go to a web shopping site and see if the details are shown on a sales blurb for the type of hose you have .

We've used soaker hose in our poly for the last four years, since we first set the tunnel up. It's worked very well for us especially when we were both out at work all day and could get some water in on a timer as it seemed to reduce the temperature a bit. As Cloddopper says there is an issue with the pores blocking up even with a filter but we've found taking the end cap out and connecting a hose to the other end squirts a lot of green gunk out and seems to solve the problem. We're on heavy clay but haven't had a problem with water logging. Some areas do get more than others but that doesn't seem to cause any problems.
