Title: Re: Southdown Tup
Post by: kelly58 on October 26, 2016, 08:46:13 pm
I will not be using my southdown tup this year, he is in the field next to the ewes.
Obviously this time of year he is showing interest, would l be able to leave him in that field ?
Would he be able to do the deed through the fence ?
Hes not got the build to jump it, l know its not fair on him but hubby cant do any fencing just now to make a separate paddock.
Marches farmer....... what would you advise ? I know you keep downs.
Any advice appreciated from anybody , dont want any unexpected lambs ????

I wouldn't risk it. You might not think he is built to jump but one of two things could happen if he gives it a go. Firstly he could surprise you and make it or secondly he could try, not make it and injure himself.
