Yes I was aware thank you. Are you interested in purchasing the half pig?
-
We have our own rare breed pigs thanks but not everyone knows they can print the on line certificate.
-

If you keep pedigree pigs and want to market them as a breed it proves provenance to the buyer.

This is not a requirement from what I understand nor has it been required by purchasers of my meat as yet. Thank you for your input though. K

I didn't say it was but people do actually find it a good marketing tool. We will only preserve our rare breeds if we eat them so anything that helps promote them is a good thing.

That's really useful information Harmony. I am a newish member of the BPA but hadn't picked up on this. Thanks.

Kazno10 - do you breed your pigs, or only buy them in? We'll be in the market for 2 or 3 GOS weaners in the Spring......
Harmony, Yes, some people do definitely value that sort of thing. A colleague of mine once raved about pork he'd bought at a farm shop, from a genuine 'Oxford Big Spot rare breed' pig. I didn't have the heart to correct him, but I wondered what the cross must be - OSBxGOSxLarge White perhaps? That's pretty rare! ;D
