HI

does any one change the feed for the chickens once they stop laying over winter or stick to the layers

Ive always stuck to the same regime they are still layers.

I mix mine 50:50 with cut maize over the winter months especially whilst they are moulting.

My ones get layers pellets, wheat and oats over the winter. Then mostly layers pellets again from February

I have a lot of bags of wheat kicking around with feeding pheasants, so when / if they stop I feed that.
Wheat is a lot cheaper than layers.

I turn my lights on timers in February so put them back on layers then
