Title: Croft/Small hill farm
Post by: Moobli on September 17, 2016, 01:05:43 pm
Which are the best websites to keep an eye on for crofts or small farms coming up for sale?  It may not be for a few years yet, but we are looking to buy a small hill farm (or would consider a croft - although I need to do much more research into the restrictions/rights etc) to run alongside our current work until we can retire.

Thanks.

Most estate agents in the crofting counties advertise crofts for sale when available. Alternatively the Scottish Crofting Federation email lists periodically to members.

Depends where and what you are looking for.
Crofts tend to be advertised locally (eg HSPC or equivalent or by local solicitors) quite a few crofts just don't get advertised.  Best to know what area you are looking for and find out which solicitors are active in that area.

Farms tend to be sold by the big rural property firms (eg.  Bidwells, Savilles, CKD Galbraith)
