Title: Honeysuckle leaves and berries
Post by: moprabbit on September 08, 2016, 09:26:10 pm
One of my ewes has just had a little munch on some honeysuckle leaves and berries - not much but enough to worry me when I look it up and find it's poisonous.  Says it can cause vomitting and diarrhoea.  Just wondered if anyone had had any experience of honeysuckle and if she is poorly what could I give her? Thank you.

wont do her any harm, I have loads in my hedges, they nibble it back all the time and its never done any harm.
A few may scour on it, but they either build up resistance or self regulate so as not to eat too much. Abit like cake and beer, too much and you know about it the next morning, but in moderation its fine.

Thank you Coximus for your reassuring reply! Yes she was fine this morning, no ill effects, probably me just getting a bit anxious having seen it noted down as poisonous to sheep!
