Title: What is this (weed)?

So I had a ditch dug a few months ago, and all these have popped up in the uncovered soil.  Any idea what it's called?  The sheep won't eat it so to me it's a weed :).

It looks very much like a polygonum weed to me.
Pale persicaria is my bet. 
It would have white flowers, upright growth habit and a green leaf.
