Title: Ear Problem
Post by: ScotsGirl on May 22, 2010, 10:05:38 pm
I have a four week old lamb holding her head to one side.  When I rub just below the ear it makes a watery sound like when we get water in our ear.  Anyone got any ideas?  Is it likely to be an infection caused by the flies?

I have given her a shot of antibiotic and will check her in the morning.

Sounds like ear infection but it could have been caused by anything - dogs get them from grass seeds and they can be quite nasty.

She seemed ok today and her mum was less agitated so may have been midges.  Managed to catch her this morning and the squidgy noise had gone and she wasn't holding her head to the side so it's a mystery.

Would have thought infection would take longer to clear but it was my first thought.  Will call vet and see what he says in the morning.  Possibly I should give more than one shot of antibod.
