Title: Calf Rearing and care of the cow - South West 22nd May 2010
Post by: Freddiesfarm on May 01, 2010, 05:38:28 pm
We are running a course at Beechhayes on the Devon/Somerset border in May which covers all elements of rearing calves, growing your own beef and keeping a house cow.  Discussing breed selection, desired outcome, management, feeding and general upkeep.   Looking also at the logistics of cattle passports and the rules and regulations on the transportation.  We also hope to have our milking simulator up and running for the course, so you can have a bit of milking practise before being let loose on the cows!

A hot meal and tea and coffee are provided and the day runs officially from 10 - 4 but invariably overruns.

Full notes to take away are provided too and we can also help arrange local B&B for those coming a distance.  Cost will be £50 for the day.

To book, please email beechhayes@aol.com . There are only 10 places available so book now to avoid disappointment.  A booking deposit of £15 is required and group discounts are negotiable.

Only a couple of places left on this course - well worth going on if you are planning on or already have cattle and want some extra help.
