Title: brussels sprouts seedlings
Post by: valr on April 28, 2010, 01:09:33 pm
Hi
First time trying sprouts - have some seedlings in the greenhouse - planted just 2 weeks ago. They are really really leggy - flopping over they are so tall. Just 2 leaves on each. About 1 1/2 inches tall, some of them.
Is that what they are meant to be like? What do I do with them next?? ??? At what stage do I harden them off and plant outside?
Advice gratefully received
Thanks

too much heat and not enough light or one or the other, transplant them into individual cells but put them in much deeper as deep as you can leaving up to an inch of stem showing.

Do the same when you transplant out into their final position and they may not need so much staking later on depending on how sheltered the site is. oh, and don't let the compost stay too wet when transplanting to prevent rotting off
