Title: Registering pure bred cattle as Pedigree.
Post by: Faye.Lear on March 07, 2016, 04:07:06 pm
Hi Guys,

I am new to this site and new to keeping cattle, but in January I managed to buy 4 healthy red ruby devons, just turned a year old.

The three heifers I would like to get registered as when I was talking to the previous owner, explained they are purebred but he hadn't bothered to register them as pedigree.

Thing is, being a newbie I have no idea how to go about this, and all I have for paperwork is their passport. So if anyone could produce me a dummy step by step guide, It would be much appreciated!

Also, any ideas on costings?

Thanks in advance! :)

I'd guess it will vary from breed society to breed society so unless there is someone n here with specific knowledge of Red Rubies, contacting the breed society might be your best bet.

That was going to be my second port of call.

Thank you!  :)

Breed Society will be best to advise.

Generally only a breeder can register their stock and pure bred doesn't necessarily mean pedigree.
