Title: AI'D the buffalo today!

No, that's just the buffalo.

To bring this thread back to something helpful then, what do the acronyms stand for, and what does the process involve? I'm guessing it's nothing to do with the Australia-Indonesia Partnership for Decentralisation (http://aipd.or.id/)?

P.D. = Pregnancy diagnosis, where an arm is passed into the rectum and the uterus and ovaries felt for swelling and structures consistent with pregnancy, +/- ultrasound scanned for same.

Post by: waterbuffalofarmer on January 30, 2016, 08:53:21 pm: The success rate last time was 3 out of 5, just hoping at least 3 out of 4 get in calf (if not all 4). :) PD is booked for 4 weeks time, so we should be able to tell by then.

Post by: waterbuffalofarmer on February 01, 2016, 02:18:18 pm: We did but he died a couple of weeks ago :'( This is the reason for running the AI programme on the ones he didn't get in calf. We have 2 young bulls which won't be ready until the end of next year, they where born to AI from 2 top Italian bulls, so hopefully their calves (when they start working) will be top quality :)
