We have been incubating chicken eggs for a few years now ( not the same ones !) but have been given some goose eggs to hatch.
These will be the first geese we have had so any hatching / rearing tips would be appreciated.
Thanks

I've just hatched the 2 goose eggs I had in the incubator last weekend and really there is no difference from them to hens or ducks. Good luck, I hope they all hatch for you, let us know.

4 of the 6 hatched over the weekend. All seem to be healthy and happy eating the chick crumbs.
I am trying to find out what breed they are as one is pale yellow but the others have quite dark backs and heads.
Probably been given Canada Geese !

That's a good rate for hatching, well done.

What colour are their legs, feet and bills?
-
the yellow one has yellowish bill and pale feet.
the others have a varying degree of dark patches on the bills. One has black feet.

My 2 just spent their first whole night outside and were fine. My Roman goose has took them under his wing and they slept in beside him but oh my god he is so protective of them and quite vicious if we go near and he was never like that before.
