Hello there,
My name is Matt.
I live in Lincolnshire, and my current occupation is assistant butcher. I have quite the interest in owning a small holding one day and have joined the site to learn about rearing livestock.
I'm looking forward to reading and learning, and thanks for having me :).

Hello and welcome to the forum Matt. As an assistant butcher I am sure you will be able to answer our questions too when we aren't sure which cuts to ask for at the abattoir.

Hi and welcome to the forum from mid wales :wave: one of my brothers is a butcher too :) I hope that we can help you to learn more about rearing livestock and I hope that it won't be too long before you have your own smallholding. All the best :thumbsup:

I don't always read the Intro posts, but was intrigued about the username WestBerkshire in a post entitled Greetings from Lincolnshire! ???

That's a fair observation Sally! I was finding it hard to come up with a username, so I threw a family name on top of a random pig breed in a book I opened - 'WestBerkshire' was the result, and I just thought 'well... that'll do'. :)

That's a fair observation Sally! I was finding it hard to come up with a username, so I threw a family name on top of a random pig breed in a book I opened - 'WestBerkshire' was the result, and I just thought 'well... that'll do'. :)
On that basis I could be McHughSandyBlack. I quite like that. :D
