we keeping water to a max in the incu.
the one we got is a brinsea (10 eggs max)
this is our second attempt at this.
ive heared a few people say ' piping ' does this mean when the chick is starting to break through?

I think it's 'pipping' Langdon, just a mistype maybe. and yes, it's when they are starting to pick at the inside of the eggs to get out. I thought I read not to put water in the last few days and just to spray them lightly.

if you talk/whistle, they should cheep or 'pip' back... its how "mummy hen" would encourage them to break free!
(just don't take the lid off or they'll get cold!)

Good Evening,
yes it is called pipping and im sure you know that they will chip away then have a great breather to restore there strenght then make the great escape we had some welsumers 3 weeks ago that my wife helped out as the shells are so strong that they would die they are a hard breed to hatch but a great looking bird good luck with them.
