We were very lucky when we moved into our house that previous owners had planted lots of smelly plants and flowers in the garden, i have continued to do so too for future folk. We have masses of Lavendar, honeysuckle, lilac, fragrant herbs, philidelphus and my favourite, old varieties of Roses. Its smells sooo lovely, particularly just after a shower of rain and in the evening. My bees love them too!

My fav has to be Gorse on a hot sunny, still day...... close second Philidelphus.....and bringing up the rear Nightscented Jasmine.

Night scented stock - usually I sow some but didn't this year. We do have a lovely rose called Blush Noisette which is lovelyand honeysuckle and lavender, but the NS stock is my favourite.

I know it's not exactly the same - bt woodsmoke, especially at this time of year when it hangs in teh air.
Mind you, it wouldn't hang here this morning - it would be drowned in the piddling rain.
