It's my birthday on Sunday and we were planning a big BBQ party - looks like it will be indoors now >:( - Bloomin' bank hioliday weather!
On the bright side the chooks will enjoy the worms that pop up after a shower!

We too have been spoiling our Ducks and Chickens with left over rice and peas, lemon pudding that was very sickly, some bread and loads of weeds I collected for them, then I dug all around thier garden and they had worms!!!!! SOft or what??? Love the idea of treating your pigs, thats what life should be, simple pleasures!! I know as I am simple too!!!

We had a nice weekend - bbq yesterday with family, drank lots of Pimms, found my 3 year old polishing off the fruit in the bottom of the empty jug - he slept well last night!

Absolutley!! couple of sausages and a belly slice washed down with a couple of ciders!
This weekend was carnage, especially Saturday ending up finishing all the normal jobs by about 2.30 and had a beer, when some friends turned up and had a few more beers, (fast forward to 7 oclock and a good few beers in me) we were showered and at our friends 40th birthday party for a couple of glasses of champers and yes a few more beers, with some chilli and curry inside of us we made our excuses and headed back to find out it was naother friends 40th in the local bar, though it was rude not to go in so popped in for another couple of sociable bevvies and left at about 1.30 am a little worse for wear............................. got home and felt a bit hungry and our friends did to so we fired up the BBQ at 2 in the morning for some hot dogs and burgers and another beer or two.
I was not feeling to great yesterday :o

Now I have never seen one real but I HATE FISH So minced eyes must look like Octopus sac HFW was into it on one of his programs If I couldn't find any thing better to eat I would have a fast on that day.Kath loves fish so when I feel she deserves one I make her an Admirals Pie with smoked salmon,cod and haddock plain cod,haddock and salmon with uncooked king prawns Until I poach them in milk.Make roux then dilute it with the poach milk add a sprinkle of herbs S&P top with Riced potato's and cheese a sprinkle of paprika and melt the cheese under the grill she says its beautiful George I think Tibetan Cow I'm sure.So its food for Manic Fridays ready for the weekend

??? Yummy!!!!! Not such a fun Friday my OH is a misserable git today!!!! We went off early to TK max and I was very disapointed, I saw loads of house hold stuff that I wanted but I gave it a miss, I did buy a cardi/shrug thingy and it was £19.99 but the proper price was suppose to be £139.000!!!! I would NEVER pay that for it, £19.99 was too much but it matched with my strappy dress, well two, rom a lovley charity shop in Falkirk, sooo pleased wtih them except the jagged edge on one goes !!!UP!!! into a V at the back...not keen on that at all as it willexpose my varacouse viens :o ::)

Hello Sandy We went spending money yesterday a new shop has opened in the center of Gy what is easy to get to It is ever so big It is in a building that housed MFI gone The Bedshed Gone Carpet Warehouse Gone.Its a huge building and its full of discount goods At one end is a food department (non fresh) but tinned and boxed sorts at real savings There is a large gardens Dept: we didn't get to explore so that will come next week hopefully they won't be as busy it was no parking spaces the aisles were full.I shall play compooters and boxes and watch TV all week end and recommence activities from Tuesday I'm Guinea Piging Tuesday and Wednesday So its Thursday for a chance visit.TTFN Will report later :D :farmer:

I remarket that Woolworths used to have prominant positions in most major towns and cities so I wonder how many of those buildings are now used as retail outlets? THe one in Alloa is a £ shop and I must go in at least 1x a week!!! The shop in GY will do well I imajine!!!!

Hey up WP Its here .Have you plans.Hows Princess is she making demands for tomorrow?Jess Its time for a visit to the park and BBQ Sausages Tell Dad to make you a Beefburger with some pork instead of beef.If he says don't know how to make them You tell him.Mince a good pork chop about 1/2 a pound.2 rashers of bacon and cut into 1/4" squares.About 3 Tbsp;of finely chopped red onion.Shred don't grate some strong cheese about 3 Tbsp full of Parmesan it is best if he has some in the fridge.a 1/4 teaspoon;of salt and some black pepper to your taste.Put all these in a bowl and squidge them through your fingers until they are all well mixed.Clean your hands.Get the board and sprinkle some flour on (To stop the burger sticking to the board)divide the mixture into 3 and make 3 nice 1/2" thick round patties then get Daddy to BBQ them for you alternatively fry them in the frying pan Tell him you need to stop at the bread shop on the way back from the park for some nice fresh burger buns and some apple sauce to spread on them mustard is to strong :farmer: :wave:XXX

When you have got Princess organized it is time for a swift 1/2 or 3 While you find the makings.I like them stood overnight but make sure you cook them well if you do.I'm sure she will love them.Tell her we have got to get another pig shop bought ones don't taste like this ;D :farmer:

Why WP do you expect me to soar with Eagles when all I have to work with is bludi Turkeys Here you are then
1 lb of minced turkey(legs are good)- 1/2 a Red onion chopped small as you can - 2 tablespoons Bread crumbs - 1 small beaten egg -
1 jalapeno Pepper(optional) 1/2 a Tsp mixed herbs - 1/2 Tsp Dijon Mustard Salt and pepper to Jess's taste Again same method as pork Make into nice 1/2" thick patties(NO thicker or the outer will be charcoal inside will still be raw.If I do some I fry them in oil first then burn the edges on the BBQ.They are a nice change If they are to dry for you soak and wring out the bread crumbs first.next time ??? ;D :farmer: :wave:

Many years ago the next farm was a dairy farm owned and run by a chap that rather liked the amber nectar ,So on Wednesday it was milking get weshed and shaved down to the market.Then Repair to the Oscroft for an odd one or six.He came home this night about 2.30 am and crept up stairs to bed on getting undressed he jumped in to the bed and missed.His Mrs told my Mother. Managed to get to the drovers with the sun setting in my eyes nearly all the way but stunning views!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My cousin is very talented musician and has played with all the big names as a session artist and now dose it for fun but really wants to move up here!!!!!! THe midges were herendouse though.....good night and recoment anyone living nearish to Loch Lommand, visit the Drovers!!!

Not exactly 'funday Monday' but very busy at work so day going quickly.
Happy week this week, especially now there seems to be a way to keep our home, Mrs WP & WP are going to take on the world and we will win!!
Jess had a wicked weekend, took her to a fete and she had her face painted like Lily our Dalmation. ' i want a lily face daddy' then we made some jumbo smarties cookies, in fact will put the recipe on later coz they are very easy and very very yummy :wave:

Hello Jess tell Daddy its winding down day tomorrow.Whats on the cards then WP I have had a good week if I disregard my COPD Monday I took Su for her test and she failed When she was on the ramp any one could see the CAT was worn out and unrepairable.So I contacted the main dealers In Horncastle Who suggested I fitted complete new system If the CAT id worn out the rest will be as bad.Supply only £1245:00p plus The dreaded and fitting.So I declined the offer Thank You.I called on a pal who is Manager for BA Bush Tyres and he quoted me £310.00p inc VAT to change the Cat.Which I took advantage of.I took her to the test station again and was given the Green Paper Whoopee Round to New Waltham P O and there I acquired a Red circle of paper for the next 12 months in exchange for £245:00p.It was £185:00p last year.So if George Osbourne increases the Road Tax in October it wont get me until next June.I have harvested a box of Potato's and they have grown a good bit since the first lot on the first Sunday in JuneThey were as large as bantam eggs and a couple of them as big as golf balls.So the rest should be good next month.Lots of leaves now ready now.and a good few green tomato as well Roy is picking Raspberries now and jolly good they are as well.Hopefully there will be excess as there was last year which I passed through the Vigo and made some delicious cordial.I tell you what it makes grand Ice Cream.I will report later :farmer: :wave:

Manic week wiz !! yes Jess was all spotty and very dalmation like, but was she happy or what!!!
Think i may be taking her strawberry picking on Saturday, the local farm has just opened and they do loads of differnt things through the summer, then bbq on Saturday with friends and maybe a run down to Camber Sands beach on Sunday, take princess for a paddle and epic sand castle building while Jess runs around jumping on them. ;D

Mornin W.P. We hope you are well as Mam and Jess also It's bin and gone agen it's Satdy and here in Grimsby it's orribull it's 7:21am and its already 18C .So if it keeps going up it means no outdoor activity other than irrigation duties COPD and hot weather do not mix well at all but it will be good for your visit to the Strawberry Fields .Don't forget your sun hats As I recall sunstroke however mild is very painfull and I wouldn't like to hear any of you got caught.It will spoil the sea side visit tomorrow.Tell Jess we live 2 miles from the sea side and I have only been once this year drove down the Kingsway but someone had pulled the plug out and the sea had drained away and it takes such a long time to refill ;D The last time was last years exceptional high tide when we popped down and the sea with the onshore wind was washing the street light glasses on the prom my it was rough.I am off now to water the boxes.The porous hose works very well in the little green house.Tell you of an idea I have next time Don't eat to many berry's Jess and get a tummy ache :D :farmer: :wave:

Hi wiz, what a day yesterday was !! we were down at Camber Sands for 8 am and sat waiting for the car park to open ??? ??? anyway got on the beach and stayed till 5, Jess fell asleep next to daddy and she was on all fours coz the sand was so hard! busy day building sandcastles, squashing sandcastles, paddling in the sea, dodging Jellyfish and digging holes for the tide to fill up as paddling pools.
gonna be a t hot one for the rest of this week as well! 31 degrees on Friday, bring it on!

WP First of all We are so pleased you all had a good day yesterday,smashing.Hope Princess had plenty of ice cream and is not multi coloured white -pink and red sore.Its so painfull I suffer terrible in the sun.
I looked where you went and its very much like down the coast from Cleethorpe a place called Donna Nook.The military had a bombing range there the lads used to like to go and see the A 10 Warthogs shoot up the targets on the beach.The seals all bask there now.There is a nature reserve The seals didn't bother about The A10's one little bit.Only the RSPCA and the likes.If only they would keep their interfering fingers out ??? :farmer: :wave:

Hey up W.P.or maybe Mam Kath has just said to me" Have you told Princess's Mum about tiramisu Jess is sure to like that" I will put it in recipes as well as here.You need about a dozen finger bisquits! or Amaretto if you have some.2 heaped Tspns caster sugar (Canderelle if you like)3 eggs.250g of Mascarpone.250g Raspberries and 250g of Strawberries.Crush the biscuits to a powder with a spoon and set aside for now.Mix the sugar with the egg yokes and mascarpone.Whip the egg whites until very firm.Then very carefully fold into the yoke mixture KEEP IT LIGHT.I each glass arrange a layer of biscuit a layer of fruit and a layer of mascarpone mix.Cling film over the top of the glass and put in the fridge 1/2 to 3/4 hour Serve chilled.Works good with Philadelphia Cream Cheese as well :D :farmer:

Princess had a bonus today................... Daddy had the day off!! best funday Friday in ages a full day of just the 2 of us! we went Strawberry picking but ended up with Raspberries, Potatoes, Peas & Onions! just made a mushroom and Pea soup

well she managed to eat a couple of strawberries, raspberries and a carrot on her wanderings round the pick your own. the she helped me make a trifle yesterday! but would only eat the cream & custard!!

G'day WP and Jess was they nice Jess I am going in the kitchen to make a jelly for tea I shall cut some strawberry into 1/4's and Raspberry in half and pour 1/2 my jelly into a glass dish and put the bowl in the fridge.I shall take it out as soon as the jelly has set enough to support the cut up fruits and place them nicely on the top pour enough of the remaining jelly to set the fruits to the base jelly Then pour over the rest and the fruit wont be all floating on the top Put it back in the fridge just before tea whip a carton of cream stiff and knife all over the top Set some alternate 1/2 fruits around the edge, Mother wheres me mouth shovull its fit ;D ;D I think WP you are a man of my own heart and of reasonable intelligence can you explain to me or ask Jess what is the difference between Smarties and M&M's I reckon that its the same thing in a different packet ;D ;D :farmer: :wave:

Hello Jess tell Daddy its only 3 more days after today.Its still very warm and still no rain here in Gy it is getting serious now WP I am worn out bin watterin the boxes.Emptied 2 out last night and they are ready to harvest now White Duke of York we have had the Red ones.Home Guard next lot I'll try a box for Sunday Lunch If its hot we will have roast ham salad.with em If it's cooled and rainin I'll have Pot roast Brisket and Kidney Beans I do like my Kidney Beans I can make a meal of them steamed with a sprinkle of vinegar on and often do when there is a glut.So I have gathered some walnuts.I have frozen some Raspberry and made some cordial with some. Of course there are plenty of fresh vegetables now and even more coming on Had some Yellow Tumbling Toms in the salad last night Big difference to bought ones taste wise.I'm off to look at a Knight Challenger dreckly Shall I decode that for you or is it common down your way dreckly = directly soon in a mo all them sort of words TTFN :farmer:

Hey up Jess tell Dad it is Friday tomorrow hasn't this week passed quickly.It seems like only an hour ago I wrote the previous message.I seem to have done so much.I have harvested my shallots and I am very pleased with them.Lots to pickle in a months time when they have dried I have hung them in the garage roof.Forked the box over and planted a score of Musselborough's in the end space.I shall harvest the carrots as and when then fill the box with leeks They grow well and at £1.99p a kilo well worth growing.Kidney Beans are enough for Sunday lunch as well TTFN

Hello Jess Hows Daddy this morning all better?Well enough to take you and Mummy to PYO It doesn't last very long you know Roys Raspberries are all done now.So I have got 2 jars of jelly (don't do Raspberry Jam) 1 jar pickled and 2 pints vinegar for my suet pudds in the winter and a few in the deep freeze .I don't bother with many in the deep freeze I put some on a baking sheet and freeze them and the a few more but the are like red sludge when they thaw only good for trifle and the like ;D Hows things then W.P. Much better we hope.Is it next week you hoped to be in Cornwall with Princess? We hope you are well enough to go and take her G & K

Blinking heck WP had an appendicitis operation in 1952 and can still remember the pain.It is the only stay I have had in hospital and they kept me in a week and I was off work a fortnight recovering Then it turned septic and had another 3 weeks I hoped never no more and touch wood have not had to stay in over night since.I go fairly often these days but don't need to stay overnight I am at the Diagnostic Investigations Unit on Tuesday not looking forward Ian sticks a needle in my wrist thats like a pencil and about as sharp.He claims he needs blood from an artery and not a vein and it is buried deep in the wrist.If he misses first go it gets very painfull indeed.We hope you are soon up and about though and Jess isn't to disappointed and you can take her later :farmer: :wave:
