we have 12 call duck eggs in the incbator at the moment, i won't be using water. This is the first time we have hatched call duck eggs up to now it has just be khaki campbells... only on day 6 but will let you know how we get on.

I've hatched call duck egg in an octagon 10 - I used a small bit of water throughout the process and then had to add a damp hot cloth when pipping started - I found the shells to be exceptionally tough and the ducklings found it very hard to get out and I did have to help some - the membrane dried out easily and the hot cloth seemed to produce the steam needed. Good luck with yours.

If you are in Scotland then I would say no water, without a doubt. This works well frome here in Fife and I have just hatched 2 goose eggs with no water (other than spraying the eggs daily).
