Hi All,
I am looking for a breeder of Nigerian dwarf goats preferably in Scotland but can travel if needed. I am looking to buy 2 possibly 3 females.
Cheers

Try the breed society or pre loved if your not looking for pure bred, depends what you want them for.Alternatively Google breeders !! Good luck, I found them sweet but very naughty !!! Used their stock fencing as a ladder to dance on my Anglo Nubian male's house !!! Little B's

I will have a look at peloved tonight but Nigerian dwarf goats are not so easy to source or could be just me not looking in the right places.

Would love to be kept updated if you do find any. Won't be getting mine for a couple of years but planning early!

I have not had any joy getting Nigerian dwarf goats but will continue to look, I will keep you posted if I find any.

Are these just pygmy goats?
-
They look a little bigger than Pygmy goats and you can milk them, the reason I want them as I don't have a lot of space.

As far as I know nigerian dwarf goats don't exist in the uk. When these various strains of dwarf goat were imported into the uk they came under the umbrella of pygmy goats, as a consequence the genetics are combined into one breed -the pygmy goat there may be some strains of pygmy goats which are milkier and longer in body length, slightly bigger. If you are looking for a dairy goat why not look at the smaller breeds golden guernsey, pure saanen, pure toggenburg old english /english or even a pygmy x dairy I know some people have had them although size can be unpredictable if buying kids.

There are people on this forum who keep their full-size dairy goats in their backgarden - and very happy goats they seem to be.
GG's are also kept by a lot of people without exensive grazing - as long as you can provide adequate hedge browsings/veg/fruit cuttings, a good concentrate ration and hay ad-lib, goats will be happy with an exercise yard and somewhere to sunbathe and lounge around.

I don't know whether it's my settings, but at the bottom of the page there are links to previous posts, interesting to look back through them.
