Title: CPH help
Post by: YoungRasher on September 17, 2015, 01:53:57 pm
Hi all.
One of our friends has just moved house and has offered us 4 acres of land to put some sheep on. I know the land has previously had sheep on and my question is about the cph number. they have no idea and I dont know if it need a new one that relates to them or whether I need to get one. If anyone has any ideas can you let me know. Thanks.

If they have one you can use their CPH but you will probably be offered a temporary one for your usage if you are renting someone elses land. It has the advantage on meaning that your livestock movements and standstill periods dont affect the owners livestock.

I do a mixture of both when I use other peoples land. If they dont have livestock I use their CPH. If they do have livestock I have a temp CPH allocated.

Hope this hepls

Yes its very simple and they are very helpful. If you explain how you want to use the land - as and when or long term they will advise you. They need to plot your friends land and assign the number so they will ask for your friends CPH if they have one or their address and postcode if they dont.
