Title: Help with my weeping willow

The weeping willow that was planted a couple of months ago is shooting new stems that aren't weeping. Should they be cut off?

As to what variety it is I'm not sure. OH bought it and its in the bee enclosure so not keen on getting too close to read the label  ;D
