Just put down a deposit on a new pony!!! Never bought unseen before but fingers crossed all will be ok!! She is up in north Yorkshire, I am in Hampshire, so viewing was not possible. Fortunately a friend knows the girl who rides the pony so got me all the inside information!! Beautiful little grey connie, 5 years old. just trying to sort transport now! Eeeeeek!!!!

I know why you are nervous Trish.
I hope it works out well for you.
Until early this year I would never have advised anyone to buy a horse they had not seen and handled. But we bought a very young Highland pony mare in May from Inverness that we had only seen a video of! I never thought I would do that. But it has been a brilliant decision. She is kindly, sensible, everything the video showed and more. We got no nasty surprises, only nice surprises and although sh eis only 4 we are getting on famously.
so don't be too anxous...it can work!

ooh ooh ooh, she is arriving next weds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amen to that.
trish.farm , have you slept yet :excited:

was going to use Gillies but using Seth Douglas has done me a really good price after a lot of sweet talking!! And no, haven't slept a wink!!!!
-
woo hoo!! she arrives later this afternoon!!!!
-
Nail-biting!!!
I had to wait until 8pm for our Highland to arrive. I felt sick with the tension. But she strolled off the lorry as though she had just been for a trip round the block.
Photos asap please
-
Trish!!! Cooo-eee, we are dying to know about your new girl.
Here is a not very good pic of our bought-unseen girlie
-
Trish!!!
Help us out here; the suspense is killing us!
Has she arrived and are you pleased?
-
sorry for the delay!!! Been far too distracted!!! My Dinky pony is everything and more that was promised!! Arrived weds afternoon, came off the lorry as cool as cucumber after 6 hours travelling. Settled into her field with my other too the other side of the fence. Saddle fitted Friday, went for a little walk in hand, yet again, cool as cucumber. Rode her today, walk, trot and canter in the school then a little amble round the farm on our own. What a little angel!!!! I am so thrilled with her, have never bought unseen before and put total trust in the owner telling me all about her, and she was completely honest. I now have a little star for the future!!! Woo hoo!!! will try and put a photo up!!

hope this works!!

oh lovely! She's really pretty. How high is she? So glad its going well. X
-
Very nice
-
she is 14 hands, rides like a 15 hand though. 5 years old, came over from Ireland earlier this year and was backed and ridden on in England. She is the sweetest, calmest pony I have ever had!!
-
That's great news, Im so pleased for you. Its lovely when a plan comes together!
-
she looks gorgeous and sounds awesome. lovely to hear of a 'good things all worked out' story!
-
Kimbo, your highland looks gorgeous!! I love highlands!! Went for my first hack today, she was foot perfect! Friends horse who I went with was an idiot, but she totally ignored it and plodded on in her own stride, past bikes, cars, motorbikes, cows etc. Biggest grin ever on my face!! She loves my sheep which is a bonus, just got to quietly introduce her to the girls (jerseys). I am on cloud nine!!
-
Beautiful. I've bought a few from photos, never been disappointed ;D
-
Aaw thanks Trish. We have 2 and they are quite different but both wonderful ponies and safe as houses. We downsized from really BIG Warmbloods and RIDs to Highlands and I wish we had done it years ago....... like before my husband was thrown off a 17.2 RID and broke his wrist in 3 places ::)
Your little girl must have received a really good start in life to be so laid back. Well done for choosing so well.
-
yep I have gone from a 16.1 ID to a 15.2 over height connie, down to a 14hh connie!! Far safer being closer to the ground!! Love her to bits already, I am so thrilled with her, could have all gone horribly wrong but I had total trust in the lady I was buying from!
-
Do you still have the ID? I am looking for one.
-
I now find myself in exactly the same situation !
Waiting for a horse to arrive from Ireland unseen..
OH HECK LORRY HERE........
-
Ooh, what did you get from Ireland Sbom???? Details!!!! :excited:
Sorry smallholdingsister, ID was sadly put to sleep 2 years ago with chronic navicular. :(

5yr old ISH, he's really lovely, quiet to handle and settling well. Maiden voyage tomorrow evening so :fc: he rides well to.
