Title: Hello from North Wales
Post by: NorthWales on August 03, 2015, 02:13:09 pm
Hi All,

Just a quick hello from North Wales (or soon to be!)

Been a reader of the site for about a year now, but thought it was time I actually joined as I'm soon going to be a smallholder, moving to North Wales on the fringes of Snowdonia to set up a small holiday accommodation business with the bonus of having about 4-5 acres to sow/grow/raise some food for the table.

Exciting times ahead and no doubt I will be asking many questions once I'm settled in and got used to having more than a dog an 20ftx30ft garden!

Let the fun times begin  :excited:

Tim

Thanks, planning Chickens for eggs and table and maybe a couple of turkeys (maybe for eggs as never tried them..), and hopefully a 3 or 4 sheep or pigs, still not decided on that one, prefer lamb over pork, but can't say no to sausages and bacon to go with the free range eggs  :yum:

But really all still in the planning stages, as more research needed on the animals before committing, hard enough deciding on a polytunnel and veg, let alone a breeds of chicken/sheep/pigs etc!

Congratulations and welcome.  Deciding what to keep and what to grow is a lot of fun!

You sound excited! That's so nice. I felt just like that in September 2014 just before we came here. I hope it all works out well for you and ask away, on any topic. There is every level of experience here.
