Title: hen with spur
Post by: northfifeduckling on July 30, 2015, 10:14:53 pm
Weirdest thing - my daughter noticed that our oldest hen has 1 spur. I never noticed so have no idea if it's new or if she always had it! Any thoughts?

reasonably common, quite a few hens grow them, nothing to worry about, they rarely get too large that it causes a problem

I was wondering about exactly the same - I noticed one of our 3 year old hens started growing a spur too, on the left leg only. Feeling reassured that this is not uncommon. Phew!
