Title: Food by mail
Post by: Bionic on June 26, 2015, 01:34:20 pm
I received a voucher recently to try a company called Gousto. Each week they have 10 recipes to choose from and you pick those you want and receive them by post.
I chose 3 meals which would usually be £34 but cost me only £9.99 with the voucher. Well, the box has just arrived and I must say I am impressed. I have to say I probably wouldn't have been so impressed at the original price though.
If you continue to order then your 4th box is free. Although you sign up to the service there is no obligation and you can cancel at any time, so long as its not after your box is being prepared.
The pic shows what I received.

I didn't see this the first time around.  It's a very interesting concept, although for me I have a well stocked store cupboard, and 4 overflowing freezers, so I couldn't justify buying it.  Were the meals as tasty as they look?

Fleecewife, the meals I chose, yellow fish curry, Perisn chicken and Chinese pork rice were all lovely. In fact I have made the curry a couple of times since. I will do the pork rice too when my weaners are old enough to be sent off.
I think the concept is really great for people who are at work all day but for myself I can't justify the cost. If I had another money off voucher though I would definitely try some of the other meals.
