I've also posted in Cattle (http://www.accidentalsmallholder.net/forum/index.php?topic=60606.0), so please make any general comment about meat over there. If your comment is specifically about sheep meat, by all means reply here if you prefer.
The butcher is receptive to working with me to ship direct from his premises. What I am hoping to do is co-ordinate orders so that I can work with him to pack and ship boxes of fresh meat by overnight carrier (or of course if you are in our area - 10 miles east of Carlisle - you can come and collect from the shop.)
I have some hoggets to go (last year's lambs, Shetland x, taste wonderful!) as soon as they are clipped, and also a Jersey heifer, so there is a possibility of doing mixed boxes of hogget and beef.
I have posted a preliminary ad in Marketplace (http://www.accidentalsmallholder.net/forum/index.php?topic=60605.0). As much as indications of interest and orders, I would be delighted to get comments and advice, too, as I haven't done anything like this before!

Good luck with this Sally.
I'll be very interested in how it it turns out

Thanks, Kimbo. Factotum Sue's just written up how she does her Shetland beef (http://www.accidentalsmallholder.net/forum/index.php?topic=60606.msg503920#msg503920)on the thread in Cattle.
If / when I get something sorted, I'll not only update the call for orders, I'll post a note of any additional information after Sue's.

And now I better take my own advice, and lock this thread as it's a duplicate of the one in Cattle.
If you have comments or advice, or questions, please pop over there! linky (http://www.accidentalsmallholder.net/forum/index.php?topic=60606.0)
