Post by: Borderreiver on May 22, 2008, 12:39:23 am
Hello, I've just joined as I discovered this forum today when sending Rosemary an email.(yoohoo!)
I am a member of Northumberland smallholders and look forward to exploring the topics here. I keep chickens, ducks and native ponies

Hi and welcome!

What kind of native ponies and where in Northumberland are you? I'm coming down to Mindrum next week for carriage driving lessons!

Hi thanks for the welcome.
Rosemary I am near Morpeth (you just sent your worm count samples).

Are you going to Flodden Edge then? I was talking to them last week as I have decided, reluctantly to sell my driving pony. She is a cream dun Highland mare. I'm sad to part but simply don't have enough time with another to ride (Welsh cob), plus another Highland mare and her gorgeous foal (called Borderreiver), not to mention the smallholding and a business to run. :o

Hi, B

Did you email me about the worm count samples? Strange old world.

Yes, I'm going to Flodden Edge - I've spoken to them on the phone, Tom and Susan, and they sound really nice - I was a bit worried that he would be a grumpy old Yorkshire man who would shout at me for being stupid - but he's promised not to shout!

I have a grey Highland gelding, 11 years, 15.1hh, that I broke to drive last year then we had an accident and we both lost confidence. I'm now trying to find my way back. Since talking to Tom, Smokey's been on a diet and has dropped (whisper it) 50kg - and is now so full of beans, he's yahooing up the field morning and night!

Hi, Borderreiver

Just reread your first post - did you email me about the dung sample? If so, I've deleted it as spam (sorry). Can you send me it again. If I'm completely barking, please let me know!
